Cut Steakhouse is Named Best New Restaurant in Halifax for 2008

CUT STEAKHOUSE IS NAMED BEST NEW RESTAURANT IN HALIFAX FOR 2008

December 4, 2008... Where Halifax magazine has named CUT Steakhouse & Urban Grill "One of Canada's Top Ten New Restaurants for 2008" Cut's sister restaurant, ONYX, received the same honour in 2004.  ONYX is also owned by RCR Hospitality Group.

Where magazine established this national award program in 2003 to celebrate and recognize our country's top restauranteurs.  Each year Where magazine's regional editors visit hundreds of restaurants in their cities in order to determine who will be awarded the prestigious title of "Best New Restaurant" Trevor Adams is the editor of Where Halifax.

Where Halifax's publisher, Sheila Blair-Reid of Metro Guide Publishing announced the Halifax winner at the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia's Annual General Meeting on November 19th.  CUT's owner, Robert Risley as well as RCR VP of Operations, Shannon Bruhm, CUT Manager Melissa Carey, Executive Chef Tahir Salamat and Chef de Cuisine, Wesley Gill were all on hand to accept the award.  "Receiving this award was a wonderful way to celebrate our one-year anniversary" said Robert Risley.  "It is great to be recognized for all of our hard work this past year."

Where magazine will announce the winners in other Canadian cities with a national campaign early in 2009.  This information will be seen by tens of thousands of travelers as Where magazines are a staple in at the top hotels in ten Canadian cities.  Visitors rely on their recommendations when making choices regarding local shopping, dining and entertainment.
